Caivano. The Naples Prosecutor's Office has requested severe sentences for the three minors accused of gang-raping two girls aged 11 and 12 in Caivano.

The prosecutor Claudia De Luca defined their actions as “a pack action” against “easy prey”, underlining the gravity of the actions committed.

Sentencing requests:

  • GM: 10 years and 8 months
    FPB: 9 years
AV: 9 years and 4 months

On Friday, July 5, the defense will have the opportunity to respond to the accusations. The two girls are assisted by the Neapolitan criminal lawyer Manuela Palombi, appointed by the guardian.

Although it is not possible to be a civil party in a juvenile trial, attention is high regarding the reintegration of the victims into a normal life context. The verdict for the first three defendants is expected today.

The investigations continue, with the Public Prosecutor's Office of Maria de Luzenberger and the Public Prosecutor's Office of Naples North of Maria Antonietta Troncone who are respectively dealing with the two adults involved and any dissemination of prohibited and private images.

Lo rape of the Caivano group has caused dismay and indignation throughout Italy. The story has put the spotlight on the need to better protect minors and combat the culture of rape.
