The operation, which lasted about four hours, involved four different medical and surgical teams. The Breast Unit team, led by Dr. Thomas Pellegrino, medical director of theComplex Operating Unit (UOC) of General Surgery, performed a Nipple sparing bilateral mastectomy, or the removal of both mammary glands while preserving the nipple-areola complex, to reduce the risk of cancer while maintaining an aesthetic result.

The next phase of the intervention saw the intervention of Dr. Fabrizio Schonauer, with the UOC team of Plastic surgery, directed by the professor Francesco D'Andrea, who carried out the immediate breast reconstruction with definitive prostheses, offering the patient an immediate recovery from an aesthetic and psychological point of view.

In parallel, Dr. Pierluigi Giampaolino ofUOC of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Sterility Center, led by Professor Giuseppe Bifulco, proceeded to remove the tubes and ovaries using the innovative technique ofultra mini laparoscopy, a minimally invasive procedure that reduces recovery time and trauma for the patient.

The contribution of the anesthesiology team, coordinated by Professor, was fundamental. Joseph Servillo, with the support of doctors Mark Cipolletta e Giampiero Cozzolino, who ensured the correct execution of the intervention and the patient's well-being throughout the procedure.

" synergy between the different operating teams was fundamental. A team effort that was essential to ensure medical and surgical assistance in line with the international standards" Dr. said Thomas Pellegrino, stressing the importance of the support of the General Manager Giuseppe Longo, which provided the best conditions to carry out this highly specialized intervention.

The patient, who responded positively to the operation, was discharged in good clinical conditions, paving the way for a speedy recovery thanks to the timely intervention and multidisciplinary approach of the Frederick II. An example of excellence in Campania healthcare, which demonstrates how collaboration between different specialties can lead to exceptional results, offering patients the best care in a technologically advanced and highly specialized context.
