Late yesterday morning, a 53-year-old man was arrested by the State Police a Napoli on charges of attempted extortion. The individual, already known to the police for similar precedents, was stopped in via Battisti, near piazza Matteotti.
The intervention of the agents was triggered when a motorist alerted the Nibbio of the General Prevention and Public Aid Office while they were patrolling the area. The motorist reported to the police that, after having parked his car on the blue lines, he had been approached by the 53-year-old who had asked him for money.
Faced with the refusal to pay what was requested, the unauthorized parking allegedly threatened to kill the motorist and damage his vehicle. Subsequent investigations revealed that the man was the recipient of a provision DACUR, or a ban on access to urban areas. For this reason, in addition to the arrest for attempted extortion, the 53-year-old was also reported for failure to comply with the provisions related to the restrictive measure.

The article talks about a man being arrested for extortion, but the circumstances are not clear. I think it is important that the police take severe measures against these illegal activities, but more information on the details is needed.
