16-Year-Old Girl Threatens Suicide on Christmas Eve: Saved by Carabinieri

Boscoreale. On Christmas Eve, while families were preparing for the celebrations, a tragedy was silently unfolding in the Circumvesuviana station of Boscoreale. A girl of only 16 years old, in the throes of a deep crisis, threatened to take her own life by throwing herself under a train.

The alarm was raised by Telefono Azzurro, who immediately contacted the Carabinieri Operations Center of Torre Annunziata. The military, with promptness and professionalism, undertook a delicate and risky action.

On the phone, with a trembling voice, the young woman poured out all her pain and desperation. The carabinieri, with patience and humanity, listened to her, trying to establish a relationship of trust and to make her understand that she was not alone. In the meantime, a patrol was sent to the place.

The police officers at the station obtain the 16-year-old's cell phone number and with their hearts in their throats they type the contact on the phone's keyboard. The girl answers! "How are you?
