Borrelli himself reports moments of tension with the staff involved in the of the structures, "who threatened him by trying to remove him from the construction site when the deputy asked to be shown the workers and whether they were regularly registered", according to a note from his press office.

“An unheard of shame and an affront to the city for which I demand an immediate apology from the organization as well as the immediate restoration of the state of the places. It is one thing to ask for the availability of piazza del Plebiscito for the organization of an event, it is another thing entirely to think of being able to come to our city and do whatever they want with arrogance and insolence towards one of the symbolic places of Naples.

A bollard anchored to the ground was knocked down by a heavy vehicle, many cobblestones jumped under the weight of heavy vehicles. Dozens of cars parked in the middle of the square without specifying their use and necessity.

From what is emerging, the presence of dozens of illegal workers during the dismantling operations of the construction site has also been ascertained. Reason for the strong irritation of the managers at my unanswered question about who the workers were and whether they were regularly registered. A festival of illegality, arrogance and ignorance.

I wonder what would have happened if we had not come to document what happened. It would probably have been said that the demolition had occurred after the event and would have been repaired at the expense of the Neapolitans. We will not allow anyone to come to Naples treating its beauties as places of conquest to be exploited and then abandoned to decay”. This is the harsh comment of Borrelli who also asked for the intervention of the Superintendency.

  1. Reading the article, it seems to me that there are many problems to be solved. The damaged bollards and cobblestones are a sign of bad management of events. It is important that the authorities take measures to avoid similar situations.
