Dragons – A livestock entrepreneur was caught by the Carabinieri Forestry of Pietramelara while illegally dumping sewage on agricultural land adjacent to his company. The man, using a tanker with a hose reel attached to a farm tractor, was dispersing the waste directly from the road.
Investigations conducted by the military revealed that the spill was not an isolated incident: traces of sewage were found across much of the bottom, with clear signs of runoff into drainage ditches due to recent rains.
The area also falls within the vulnerable zones for nitrates of agricultural origin, where the spreading of wastewater is prohibited from 1 December to the end of February to prevent pollution of groundwater and watercourses.
Following the operation, the agricultural land of approximately 8.066 square meters, the tractor and the tanker used for the crime were seized. The entrepreneur was reported for illegal management of non-hazardous special waste, with the hypothesis of environmental pollution.
