Ahead of the direct clash with Inter, the Azzurri defender Alessandro Buongiorno gave an exclusive interview to Radio CRC, Napoli's radio partner, where he analyzed the team's preparation for the big match scheduled for next Saturday.
“Let's start again from the group” – Buongiorno began – “We have to reset the game against Como. We are focused exclusively on Inter. We are working hard to arrive at Saturday in the best possible condition, trying to remain united and cohesive. The secret will be to maintain concentration and work hard to arrive prepared.”
Inter, the opponent on duty, is one of the strongest teams in the championship and Buongiorno did not fail to underline this. “Inter are definitely a team to beat, the one that started the season with the goal of winning the championship. They are a very strong group, but we are preparing ourselves as best we can, working both physically and tactically. We watch a lot of videos and during training we try to reproduce what we expect from the match.”
Intensity will be one of the crucial aspects for Napoli: “We have to keep the pace high, always stay focused and win the many duels that will take place on the pitch”, added Buongiorno. The defender also wanted to send a message to the Azzurri fans, inviting them to support the team with their usual passion. “Their support will be fundamental. They can give us an extra boost and I am sure they will support us, because it is an important match.”
Another topic addressed by Buongiorno concerns his recent injury. “My injury wasn’t easy. I had to work hard to recover, it was hard to watch my teammates from the outside. Now I’m fine and I’m happy to be able to give my contribution to the team.” Talking about the defensive system, Good morning highlighted the cohesion of the department, regardless of the module adopted. “Playing with three or four in defense changes some movements, some pressures and slides, but the important thing is that the team has the right spirit in the defensive and offensive phases.”
Regarding his role on the pitch, Buongiorno confirmed his willingness to follow the coach's instructions: "I put myself at the disposal of the coach, I don't have a favorite position. The important thing is that we all continue to work together and find the right movements." Finally, he spoke about the defensive phase, underlining that protecting the goal concerns the whole team: “I don’t like to talk only about defenders, because the defensive phase is a team effort. Everyone has to contribute. We are happy that Spinazzola and Olivera are back to training and I am sure that they will give their contribution.”

Buongiorno's interview was interesting but I don't agree with everything he said. Sure, Inter is strong but Napoli has to prove its worth. We have to win this game, but it's not as easy as it seems.
