The fruit and vegetable centre of Volla was the point of arrival and sorting of the drug which comes to Napoli laid down by the Spain in the fruit crates.
The trafficking of hashish and marijuana hidden in fruit bins was managed, on behalf of the Contini clan, by Gianmarco Ammendola e Antonio Ammendola, sons of the “Buvero” boss Joseph Ammendola, Said Peppe the boy arrested in 2015 while spending his golden years on the beach of Torvaianica.
They were arrested with them Pablo Lorusso, 38 years old, Diego Giarra, 35 years old, Cyrus Orlando, 60 years old, and Stephen Orlando, 32 years old. Instead Salvatore Caccavale, 60 years old, has been placed under house arrest, while they are under investigation at large Pasquale Incarnate, 56 years old, Francis Licciardi, 49 years old, Sami Bodini, 59 years old, and Anthony DiGuido, 32 years.
The investigation, by the Carabinieri and coordinated by the DDA of Napoli, which started in 2019, documented the existence of an organization capable of exploiting the logistics of the fruit and vegetable sector to import large quantities of narcotics from Barcelona using the trucks of the Ip Distribuzione company, which was seized.
After yesterday's blitz, investigators are looking for further evidence and complicity not only in Spain and Morocco where the drugs came from but also within the Caan di Volla itself and then understand the distribution channels and the drug dealing areas supplied in Naples and the province.
The voluminous investigation promises further developments because the complicities are multiple and the business was millionaire. It is no coincidence that during the investigation, a load of 16 tons of hashish and marijuana was intercepted on February 2019, 1,3, and another of 34 kilos on the following May 19.
