Inaugurated today by the three mayors of Battipaglia Cecilia Francese, from Bellizzi Mimmo Volpe and from Olevano sul Tusciano Michele Ciliberti, the inclusive beach of the Area Plan S04_1. Through the initiative “Turismo BalneAbile”, promoted by the Department of Social and Socio-Health Policies of the Campania Region, the Area Plan has activated the project “Battipaglia MareAbile”.
The project involves an investment of 116.000 euros entirely from the financing granted to the ATS following direct participation in the Public Notice "Expression of interest for inclusive and accessible seaside tourism projects for people with disabilities".
The public initiative, which is taking place on the coast of the Municipality of Battipaglia, where a special reception area has been set up near the free beach (AREA PIT BAT) located between the Virgin Beach and Mojito Beach bathing establishments, sees as beneficiaries three unemployed people for whom targeted internships for social and work inclusion will be activated, and 20 citizens, always resident in the area, with physical, mental and sensory disabilities certified by the ASL, for whom inclusive and accessible reception and bathing activities have been organized.
The beneficiaries were selected by public notice and will benefit from a service of care and accompaniment for both training internships and bathing. Social transportation is provided with collection of beneficiaries from their respective homes. Citizens of the area who, although not selected by public notice, are affected by certified physical, mental and sensorial disabilities are allowed to use the public platform for inclusive and accessible bathing activities. For the latter, it will be possible to benefit from social transportation within the limits of the organizational capacity of the social cooperative entrusted with the service.
