The government, as far as we know, has decided to extend the appointment of the extraordinary commissioner for one year Caivano to Fabio Ciciliano, who in the meantime has also become head of the National Civil Protection Department.
The extension measure should arrive at the Council of Ministers on Tuesday. Ciciliano, appointed commissioner in September 2023, government sources explain, will continue to cover both roles.
As announced in recent months, the 'Caivano model', used for the redevelopment of the municipality on the outskirts of Naples, will be replicated in other suburbs and similar interventions are being studied in some regions, including Puglia.
