Last night, in the heart of Napoli, the agents of the General Prevention Office made an arrest in flagrante along Corso Umberto I. During the usual patrolling of the territory, the police officers noticed a young man who, in a state of panic, was chasing a man and asking for help.
The officers intervened promptly and managed to block the fugitive in via Seggio del Popolo. After a quick check, it emerged that the man, shortly before, at the height of piazza Bovio, had forcibly stolen a cell phone from the young man's hands, threatening him with a 30 cm long knife to ensure his escape.
The person responsible, a 31-year-old Algerian national, already known to the police for previous crimes, was found in possession of the stolen cell phone and the weapon. Furthermore, he was found to be illegally resident in Italy. The man was immediately arrested on charges of improper robbery and reported for illegal possession of weapons, as well as for his illegal residence status in Italy.
