The commitment of the Municipality of continues Napoli for urban greenery with the replanting program financed by the Metropolitan City, which began its executive phase in December 2021.
To date – it is recalled in a note – thanks to this plan, the city has already seen the planting of 1.835 trees and 747 shrubs, with an important new phase planned for March 2025 that will lead to the planting of a further 1.998 trees and 131 shrubs.
In total, by 2025, Naples will be able to count on over 4.500 new trees and shrubs, a concrete step towards improving air quality, combating the urban heat island and offering citizens increasingly welcoming and sustainable spaces.
To ensure an effective and widespread intervention, the city territory has been divided into five lots, including all the neighborhoods of Naples: Lot 1: Soccavo, Fuorigrotta, Pianura, Bagnoli, Posillipo Lot 2: Miano, Piscinola, Scampia, San Carlo all'Arena Lot 3: Barra, Poggioreale, Ponticelli, San Pietro a Patierno, Secondigliano Lot 4: Vomero, Arenella, Avvocata, Montecalvario, Stella, Chiaiano, San Lorenzo, Vicaria Lot 5: Chiaia, San Ferdinando, San Giuseppe, Porto, Pendino, Mercato, Zona Industriale, San Giovanni a Teduccio.
“Urban greenery is an essential element for the health and well-being of our community,” said the Councilor for Health and Greenery, Vincenzo Santagada. “In addition to improving air quality, new trees contribute to regulating the city’s climate and improving the decor of public spaces. This replanting program,” added the Councilor, “is an ambitious plan and represents a concrete sign of our desire to make Naples a more sustainable city, which invests in the future and in the quality of life of its inhabitants.”
