A few hours before the big match against Inter , Napoli coach Antonio Conte is encouraging his team and inviting them to take the Scudetto challenge scheduled for tomorrow at 6pm at the Maradona stadium with serenity.
"Regardless of the league table, after seven months, I would have expected Napoli to start taking shape. Finding ourselves in this position fills us with pride, but it shouldn't put too much pressure on us ," the Napoli coach said at a press conference. "We deserved this position in the league table, so we have to enjoy the moment."
Coming off a disappointing second half in the defeat against Como , Napoli wants to turn the page immediately. "We learned more from the defeat than from the victories. The lads know I was very angry, but so were they: that second half wasn't up to our standard. We need to stay focused until the 95th minute and remember that every point we've earned has been hard-earned."
Pressure on Inter? Conte is not having it
Inter are starting with a commitment to winning, but Conte doesn't want this to affect his team's mentality. "My players shouldn't think like that. We need to grow and learn to give our all in every match. The important thing is to leave the pitch knowing we've given our all. If we lose, it'll be because the others were better."
The Salento coach will have to do without Frank Anguissa , a key player in midfield. "It's a significant absence, but I still have 24 hours to decide how to replace him. I'll look for the best solution; you'll see on the pitch tomorrow."
