Naples - The mayor of Pomigliano d'Arco, Raffaele Russo, wrote a letter to Naples prosecutor Nicola Gratteri to reiterate his position on the presence of the Camorra in the municipality.
"I have always made it clear, although my words have often been misinterpreted, probably even for misleading purposes, that the Camorra does not exist within the City Hall and that there is no episode that could link the activities of organized crime to those of the current municipal administration," Russo stated.
The mayor took the opportunity to express his praise to the judiciary and the Carabinieri for the anti-Camorra operation conducted today, which led to the arrest of 27 people. "I read the statements of Gratteri According to which I was proven wrong in my assertion that the Camorra does not exist in Pomigliano d'Arco. I feel it is my duty to clarify that this assertion does not correspond to what I stated," the mayor added.
Russo emphasized that the crimes alleged in today's operation in no way concern local administrative activity. "I reiterate my full support and gratitude for the tireless work of the judiciary and law enforcement to defend the legality and security of our city. Today's operation is a clear demonstration of our shared commitment to fighting all forms of illegality," he concluded.

It is important that the mayor reiterate that the Camorra does not exist in the building, but there are many doubts about his statements. Law enforcement operations are essential for the safety of the community and must continue to be supported.
