Mural for Luigi Caiafa in via dei Tribunali, Borrelli (Europa Verde): “A mural dedicated to a robber is a slap in the face to the city, it should be removed immediately”
“Some citizens of the neighborhood have reported to us that in recent days in an alley of Via dei Tribunali a mural has been created dedicated to Luigi Caiafa, the 17-year-old robber killed during a firefight with the Police, a real slap in the face to all the good citizens of Naples. A truly tasteless tribute in a city that is experiencing a resurgence of violence starting from its bowels. The alleys of Naples are once again being stained with blood as is its province and this mural represents a hymn to violence, anyone who passes by will think of Luigi as a martyr and not as a boy who chose his own destiny also because of the social and family system in which he grew up and which directed him down the wrong path”. These are the words of Francesco Emilio Borrelli, Regional Councilor of Europa Verde.
"I therefore ask - continues the Councilor - that this mural be removed as soon as possible. We cannot bow to the arrogance of criminals who try to impose their corrupt and distorted morality on us, with violence and contempt for legality. Erasing this portrait is simply a sign of civilization and justice".
