After the heart-stopping salvation achieved in the end-of-season play-off against Spezia,Greece Verona starts again from Marco Baroni, made official as first team coach, linked to the yellow and blue club until 30 June 2024, with the option for a second year.

Born in Florence on 11 September 1963, after having concluded a long career as a footballer in which he also wore the shirt ofGreece from 1995 to 1998 – 93 appearances and 9 goals, distributed between Serie A, Serie B e Coppa Italia – he began his career as a technician, after having also been assistant Alberto Malesani right on the Verona bench in 2002-2003.

Among his achievements is the victory of the playoff di Serie B Benevento in the 2016/2017 season, which was worth the first promotion in Serie A of the Sannita team. At the helm of the Lecce, in the 2021-2022 season, also achieved promotion to Serie A, ultimately saving the team last season.
