The military personnel of the Economic and Financial Police Unit of the Guardia di Finanza of
Irpinia capital, at the request of Deputy Prosecutor Dr. Vincenzo Russo of the Public Prosecutor's Office
Republic at the Court of Avellino, in execution of a search warrant
local and staff at two stores located in the cities of Avellino and Salerno, have seized numerous leather bags, faithfully reproducing both in shape and size, models of the well-known brand "BOTTEGA VENETA“, a company operating in the luxury goods sector and renowned in particular for its handcrafted leather products.
The bags found are exact copies of the models registered by the well-known brand, such as to arouse in the consumer the same general impression of the original product, so that the sale of the same, carried out in the stores and through the social channels connected to the company's website, would have generated considerable profits.
The owners of the two commercial activities, already known to the Avellino financial police, who a few months earlier had notified them of a precautionary custody order in prison issued
by the GIP at the Court of Avellino for crimes under Legislative Decree 74/2000, were
reported at large to the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Irpinia capital.
The activity carried out, testifies to the continuous action exercised by the men of the Command
Provincial of the Guardia di Finanza of Avellino, under the command of Colonel Salvatore
Minale, in order to contrast the diffusion of products that do not comply with safety standards,
in order to stem the continuous phenomena of violation of industrial property, aimed at
production and marketing, including via the internet, of reproducing products
clothing accessory models registered by fashion houses necessary for
ensure effective consumer protection, as well as a competitive market where honest economic operators can benefit from fair conditions of competition.
