Caserta, horse dies in collision with car along State Road 6

The impact was inevitable: and the horse riding unfortunately he lost his life.

This is what was reported by the fifty-six year old driver who, late yesterday evening, was travelling on board his Ford C-Max along the SS 16 Casilina, at the height of the municipality of Marzano Appio, in the province of Caserta, also due to the poor lighting on that stretch of road, hit a horse that had stopped in the middle of the road at that precise moment.

Following the impact, the animal died instantly while the fifty-six-year-old, in a confused state, was taken to the Piedimonte Matese hospital, where he was discharged shortly afterwards.

The immediate investigations, carried out by the Carabinieri of the Presenzano Station, who intervened at the scene of the accident, allowed them to trace the owner of the horse, a twenty-nine-year-old local. The man was reported at liberty and will have to answer for failure to guard and mismanage animals.
