The restaurant and the hotel of Coverciano, which have now become points of reference in the Italian football scene, not only host the Federal Technical Centre but are also meeting places for the Azzurri and Azzurre during their retreats to prepare for international commitments.
Located on the outskirts of Florence, these places have recently been at the centre of an innovative professional training project in the tourism sector, which involved young people from Caivano, in the province of Naples. The street football tournament organized in the historic Piazza del Carmine was just one of the events that marked this collaboration between Coverciano, the home of Italian football, and the F. Morano Hotel Institute in Caivano. For almost five months, sixteen students had the opportunity to live a unique experience within the CTF accommodation facility, participating in a school-work alternation internship that involved all the various professionals in the tourism sector, from catering to hotel reception.
The principal of the Istituto Alberghiero F. Morano, Eugenia Carfora, underlined the importance of this initiative, which allowed the boys of Caivano to live a formative and human experience of great value. “Sport can be a driving force to temper the minds,” declared Carfora, highlighting the importance of projects that promote inclusion and education through sport.
The Federal President Gabriele Gravina praised the initiative, underlining the Federation's commitment to promoting greater openness of the Coverciano Center to civil society. Mauro Grimaldi, president of CTF Servizi, highlighted the importance of giving back to the community what Football receives from people, from their passion.
