This afternoon at 15pm a crucial meeting will be held at the Ministry of Civil Protection, chaired by Minister Nello Musumeci.
The announcement was made by prefect di Napoli, Michele Di Bari, during the funeral of Roberto Abbruzzo, Margherita Della Ragione and Patrizia Della Ragione, the victims of the collapse of the Vela Celeste which occurred last Monday. The central theme of the meeting will be the accommodation of the displaced people of Scampia. Di Bari stressed the importance of respecting the will and needs of the inhabitants of the Vele, declaring: “We need to fully understand people’s reasons, even from a technical point of view. It is essential to identify a range of solutions that respond to different needs. We must not talk about numbers, but about people, since each family unit has specific needs.”
The prefect highlighted the complexity of the challenge: "We have to accompany these families. It won't be easy, it's a huge challenge, but I believe that if we all have the will to pursue this path, at the end of this tunnel we will see the light." The meeting at the ministry represents an important step towards finding concrete and immediate solutions for the families affected by the tragedy.
