The Carabinieri of the Vico Equense station hit the mark when they decided to visit Raffaele Abbate, a 66-year-old local man already known to the police.
And in fact the military decided to carry out a search during which they found a 20-gauge hunting rifle, with the serial number erased, a 45-caliber rifle and 20 20-gauge cartridges.
The weapons and bullets were hidden in a cottage, in the appurtenances of his home. The 66-year-old was taken to prison.
The weapons were sent to the Carabinieri scientific section, which will have to determine whether they were used in recent criminal acts.
