The eighteenth edition of the Botteghe d'Autore Award is coming soon

The eighteenth edition of the Botteghe d'Autore Award is coming soon. Organized by the association of the same name, in collaboration with InfoCilento.it, this music festival will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, in the historic Piazza Cavalieri di Vittorio Veneto in Albanella (SA). The event aims to honor singer-songwriters.

The Competition Finalists

The Botteghe d'Autore Award is under the artistic direction of Ivan Rufo and enjoys the patronage of the municipality of Albanella.

This year, ten finalists from various Italian provinces have been selected: Alessandra Nazzaro (Naples), Bros Buskers (Turin), Chiara D'Auria (Potenza), Devil A (Naples), Dirlinger (Rimini), Enea (Rimini), Francesco Sbraccia (Teramo), Mancino (Naples), Massimo Donno (Lecce), and Mela Indie (Bari). These artists will compete for the prestigious award by presenting their best performances. ### Tribute to Eduardo De Filippo 2024 marks not only the coming of age of the Botteghe d'Autore Award but also the fortieth anniversary of Eduardo de Filippo's passing. The event will pay tribute to this great Italian theater figure with a performance by singer-songwriter Patrizia Cirulli, who will present her album "Fantasia. Eduardo's Poems in Music." This work consists of a musical transposition of ten of Eduardo's poems, a work that recalls his enormous influence on Italian culture.

Performances and Meetings

Also taking the stage will be young local talent Giovanni Lamberti, aka Giovanni Elle, who is gaining ground in the Italian music scene. This will be followed by a brief conversation with Duccio Pasqua, who will discuss the book "Stories of Extraordinary Sound: From RCA Studios to Great Live Productions," co-authored with Foffo Bianchi and Francesca Gaudenzi. This book offers a unique perspective on Italian music through the career of Rodolfo "Foffo" Bianchi, producer and sound engineer, with stories and anecdotes spanning fifty years of musical history.

Guest of Honor: Ron

Another highlight of the event will be a performance by Ron, one of Italy's most important and beloved singer-songwriters. With a distinguished career and a rich repertoire, Ron will perform a short acoustic set. His career includes 26 studio albums, eight appearances at the Sanremo Music Festival (including a victory in 1996), and numerous other awards and accolades. Ron's presence represents a significant highlight for this year's edition. ### Hosting the Evening Journalist Concita De Luca will host the evening, guiding the audience through the finalists' performances, special tributes, and guest performances, ensuring that the eighteenth edition of the Botteghe d'Autore Award is a memorable event. In short, the eighteenth edition of the Botteghe d'Autore Award promises to be an unmissable event for lovers of singer-songwriter music, brimming with emerging talent and tributes to the greats of Italian music and theater history.
