The controversy does not subside, especially on social media, over the concert di Fedez held yesterday evening at ozieri, during the patronal feast in honor of the Blessed Virgin of Remedy.
The event took place a few hours after the tragic death of little Gioele Putzu, a 9-year-old boy who was killed by the collapse of a soccer goal while playing with friends on a sports field. The failure to cancel the show has sparked outrage and dismay among many citizens and social media users.Today, Fedez removed the post announcing the concert from Instagram, perhaps in response to criticism. Despite the tragedy, thousands of people still flocked to Ozieri from all over Sardinia to watch the rapper perform. According to the city's mayor, the authorities decided not to cancel the show for reasons of public order.
However, as a sign of mourning, all other events scheduled for the patronal feast have been cancelled. In a statement released on Facebook, the religious society Beata Vergine del Rimedio explained the reasons for the choice: "Following the tragedy that occurred yesterday in our city, after having made all the necessary considerations, we believe it is appropriate to cancel the civil celebrations and the procession of folk groups and knights. We confirm the purely religious celebrations, embracing with affection the pain of the family. A painful but necessary decision, which we would have liked to make yesterday, but we were unable to for reasons of public order and technical-logistical reasons".
