He has reproduced in bricks some of the most suggestive national monuments such as the Trevi Fountain, Piazza San Marco, the Cathedral of Trani, now he has created in scale Piazza del Plebiscito a .

A work that – as if by coincidence – was completed not only in the days in which the G7 Culture is celebrated in the Neapolitan capital, but also on the eve of the solemnity of San Gennaro.

It is also the first time that the most famous square in Naples has been reproduced entirely – and in such considerable dimensions – with Lego bricks and without the aid of software but only of photographic material.

The diorama features two equestrian statues depicting Charles III of Bourbon and his son, Ferdinand I of the Two Sicilies, the two colonnades featuring 11 statues on the roofs, the 3 domes and even the buildings of Via Gennaro Serra, Via Egiziaca a Pizzofalcone and Piazzetta Salazar placed to the side and behind the work which also has around fifty micro-figures representing people walking in the square.

“Questo è il mio quinto monumento nazionale – spiega all’ANSA Maurizio Lampis – il mio obiettivo è quello di realizzare l’Italia in miniatura e quest’anno ho deciso di rappresentare uno dei simboli più iconici di Napoli, . Mi sono servito di più fotografie trovate in rete o anche grazie all’aiuto di amici campani per riprodurre più particolari possibili.

My dream, like all my other famous projects, is to also exhibit Piazza del Plebiscito in their city of origin, bringing it directly to Naples”. In addition to this diorama, however, Lampis has also created another work this year, in the form of a mosaic, which celebrates another symbol of Naples and the world of football: a giant reproduction of the figurine of Diego Armando Maradona. “This is my further homage to a fantastic city called Naples”, he concludes.
