The inmate of the Secondigliano Penitentiary Center of Naples was hiding a large quantity of drugs, discovered thanks to the nose of the Penitentiary Police drug-sniffing dog Spike.
The man was identified during a routine search in the detention unit: Spike targeted the prisoner who was subsequently subjected to thorough checks thanks to which it was possible to identify the drug.
“Spike, with his infallible instinct, has now become a nightmare for drug dealers,” comment Giuseppe Moretti and Ciro Auricchio, respectively president and regional secretary of the Uspp.
“Congratulations both to the Avellino dog handlers detachment and to the penitentiary police command of the Secondigliano prison, which despite daily critical issues and understaffing manage to fulfill their institutional mandate and maintain order and security”.
