Rome – “The night passed peacefully and the Pope rested.”
This can be read in a note from the Santa Thirst on the health conditions of the Holy Father, hospitalized at the Policlinico Gemelli of Rome.Article Key Points
Pope Francis intends to continue his mission as long as his strength allows him. This is what he says brother Enzo Bianchi, founder of the Bose Community, in an interview with La Stampa: “He wants to continue until the end, to continue his incisive action for the Church and the reforms he has started.”
The health conditions of the Pontiff, now 88 years old, have reportedly worsened again, fueling concern within the Church. “The Pope is ill and, given his advanced age, apprehension is growing. His eventual death would occur at a time of great political uncertainty for the West”, observes Bianchi.
The possibility of a renunciation of the Pontificate exists, but it appears unlikely.
Attention towards Francis, however, goes beyond the boundaries of the Catholic community. “Even those who are far from the Church hope that his voice can continue to resonate in this delicate period for the world. People need Pope Francis, his presence and his words”, the monk emphasizes.
Finally, Bianchi highlights the trust in the role of the Pontiff as a moral guide and promoter of peace: “His voice is authoritative and necessary in an era marked by international tensions that could lead to new conflicts”.
