Sanremo – The young singer Olly, pseudonym of Federico Olivieri, won the 75th edition of the Festival of Sanremo, led by Carlo Conti. With the song “Balorda nostalgia”, Olly surpassed Lucio Corsi with “Volevo essere un duro” and Brunori Sas with “L'albero delle noci” in the final ranking.
The ranking was determined by a mix of votes: 34% from the public, 33% from the press room and 33% from a jury of radio representatives.
Brunori Sas received the award for best text, while Simone Cristicchi won both the press room award and the award for best musical composition with “Quando sarai piccola”. Lucio Corsi instead won the critics’ award.
Olly, 23, was at his second participation in the festival, having already participated two years ago. His career began to take off in 2022 with the single “Un'altra volta” and the participation in Sanremo Young with “L'anima balla”, which came in second. So far, he has released two albums with the producer JVLI, pseudonym of Julien Boverod: “Gira, il mondo gira” (2023) and “Tutta vita” (2024).
Olly's victory at Sanremo guarantees him the right to represent Italy at theEuro Vision Song Contest, the largest European music event where different countries compete by presenting a singer and a song. The next May edition will be held in Basel, in Switzerland

Olly's win was really interesting, but I'm not sure if he's the best for Eurovision. Music is subjective and everyone has their own opinion. Anyway, best wishes to him for the future.

I agree with you, but I think his music has great potential and could surprise in Europe. Sanremo is just a step towards a long and satisfying career.
