Today the Public Prosecutor's Office of North Naples notified five notices of guarantee to entrepreneurs, professionals and public officials of the Municipality of villaricca in relation to an investigation into fraud in public procurement.
The warnings are related to subsidence problems in the second crossing of Via Palermo in Villaricca, caused by the presence of a sinkhole resulting from an anthropogenic quarry in the subsoil.
The investigations conducted by the Public Prosecutor's Office revealed that the road restoration works presented several critical issues.
The use of materials with a lower density than expected, the lack of a correct monitoring campaign of the subsoil and the issuing of a certificate of regular execution of the works containing false attestations are highlighted.
The head of the contractor, the director of the works and the heads of the Villaricca UTC have been entered in the register of suspects. Furthermore, the contractor is the subject of proceedings for an administrative offence. Currently, the area of interest and the surrounding homes are still under preventive seizure.
