The killer fled in his car, pursued by the Carabinieri for several kilometers. During his escape, he threw pieces of glass from the window at the military car, damaging it. Eventually, the man abandoned the vehicle in a rural area and managed to disappear.
Thanks to intense and incessant searches, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Naples North, the fugitive was tracked down to a local health facility. He was arrested, questioned and denied any involvement in the double homicide.
During the house searches, illegally held weapons and ammunition were found, including a modified sawn-off shotgun with the serial number erased, a semi-automatic pistol and a large quantity of material for packaging cartridges and gunpowder.
