Naples. A 36-year-old man was arrested by the Carabinieri of the Vomero company for attempted robbery and aggravated theft.
The man, already under special surveillance, attempted to rob a pastry shop on Via Scarlatti, threatening the employee. However, he was unable to open the cash register and had to run away empty-handed.
Shortly after, in via Bernini, the man managed to steal the cash register of another pastry shop by taking advantage of the staff's distraction. The loot amounts to approximately 260 euros.
He had abandoned the box, without money, near a church
The Carabinieri, who intervened promptly, viewed the images from the surveillance cameras and easily identified the man. Searching his home, they found burglary tools and, shortly after, found the stolen cash register, still intact but without money, near a church.
The man was arrested and taken to prison. He will also have to answer for violating the special surveillance measure.
Four young people also arrested for drug use
During the nightly checks in the Vomero neighborhood, the Carabinieri also fined and reported to the Prefecture four young people for drug use. Numerous traffic violations were issued, mainly for driving without a helmet or without insurance.
The checks will continue in the coming days to ensure the safety of citizens.
