Gesco on ASL dispute: “We are alongside the operators”

The Committee represents the workers who work in the hospital facilities and departments of the ASL Napoli 1 Centro and who risk being fired by the summer because the ASL Napoli 1 Centro has announced that it intends to proceed with the hiring of internal staff who have won competitions at other ASL in Campania.

Gesco, in line with what was already expressed yesterday in a note by the Committee and with what was already highlighted by the unions Cgil, Cisl and Uil, asks the ASL Napoli 1 Centro to maintain the commitments made and to proceed with internal hiring, however without this entailing any dismissals: the agreement between the ASL and the Ati of the cooperatives that currently manages the service was that the operators replaced in the hospitals by the competition winners would be transferred to the territorial home care services, which in turn would have to be implemented by the ASL.

“Faced with this situation, with the agreements given by the general management of the ASL Napoli 1 Centro no longer in place, we find ourselves forced to proceed with the dismissal of the operators and, at the same time, to evaluate whether to proceed through legal channels”, states the president of Gesco Giacomo Smarrazzo.

And then he adds: "Today is yet another ASL resolution that suggests other replacements due to internal hiring. This is an unacceptable situation for us, both for the protection of approximately 400 operators and the hundreds of users and families who have counted on their professionalism and assistance for years".
