Pozzuoli. The PNRR project that included a nursery of 108 places in Via Artiaco.
In December 2023, the administration led by Mayor Manzoni had presented a project for a 108-place nursery school, at the “Santa Lucia” complex of the Artiaco school, to be financed through the redistribution of funds PNRR.
However, once the project was approved, after vague statements shared via social media, the administration itself decided to trash the idea of the nursery school and, in effect, send the funding back.
"What happened is embarrassing," declared opposition councilors Del Vaglio, Iasiello, Ismeno, Sebastiano, and Volpe. "A condition that highlights the lack of planning on the part of this administration.
A project of approximately two million euros, for 108 minors in our territory, is being thrown away, because the structure that had been planned suddenly becomes no longer available and because, in the face of a nursery school with 108 places, the administration has chosen not to provide the funds for its management".
The building that was supposed to house the nursery school, in fact, was identified for the redistribution of school buildings, to the detriment of the educational structure that would have housed over one hundred children.
A real shame for the families of Pozzuoli, at a time when all possible efforts to support parenting would be required.
«A paradoxical situation – the opposition councilors continue – considering also that a majority councilor, president of the PNRR Commission, had also announced with great fanfare on social media the alleged “victory” of the administration and staff (sic!).
Faced with such embarrassment, one could only resign or at least apologize to the city for having given such incorrect information. How is it possible that within a majority, the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing?
Meanwhile - conclude Councilors Del Vaglio, Iasiello, Ismeno, Sebastiano and Volpe - our city loses another opportunity due to the inability to plan and govern some processes. A real shame, especially in this historical phase where our municipalities will be inundated with PNRR funding".
