Naples. Mariano Di Palma, regional representative for Campania of Free intervenes with a very harsh note regarding the shooting last night in which a 15-year-old boy was killed and two others were injured.
“This night Napoli has experienced another tragedy that requires us to reflect and react without delay. The killing of a boy of only 15 years old, hit by gunshots in the very center of the city, represents a new and unacceptable episode of violence that afflicts our community. It is yet another young life cut short by crime violent”.
And then he added: "We cannot remain passive spectators of this escalation of violence and insecurity. The institutions must respond with determination and firmness, implementing concrete measures to address the problem of organized crime and social degradation at the roots", continues Di Palma.
Libera contro le Mafie launches an appeal "to all political forces and civil society: it is time to unite in a common front against violence to disarm Naples. The massive presence of weapons, both cutting and firearms, which continue to circulate and be sold illegally in the city is unacceptable.
This vicious circle of violence must be broken. Furthermore, an extraordinary plan for the education and future of young people is needed, involving all regional resources and the best possible strategies to 'save' entire neighborhoods.
We cannot remain indifferent to the loss of such a young life. The community must react and we cannot allow silence to follow this violence,” Di Palma concludes.
