On Wednesday, December 11th, at 6:30 pm, the Teatro Karol in Castellammare di Stabia will host a significant cultural event as part of the PLATEALMENTE series, "From Book to Stage." Organized by Casa del Contemporaneo, the event will feature director Franco Cutolo presenting his work "Surreal Naples. Images and Anecdotes of Neapolitan Everyday Life," published by Edizioni Mea. Pierluigi Fiorenza will moderate the event.
### A journey into surreal Naples
Cutolo's book offers a perspective on the surreal-metaphysical dimension of Naples, revealed through stories and images collected in thirty years of research. The work, with a preface by Alessandro Siani, includes anecdotes such as the "virgin corpse", the hospital of the dolls, and the "Christ among the thieves" of Forcella.
### Free entry event
Admission to the event will be free until all seats are taken. For the occasion, there will be a book sales point managed by Mondadori Bookstore. Participants will also have the opportunity to visit the SPAZIO ARTE in the foyer of the theater, with an installation curated by the Associazione Stabiese dell'Arte e del Presepe. The scenography, by Antonio De Martino and inspired by the Maestro from Stabia Umberto Cesino, will be accessible during the events and during the opening hours of the box office. The evening will have the support of sponsors such as Hotel Stabia and Taverna Mafalda, as a tribute to Neapolitan culture.
