Caserta. For the second time in a few days, a soldier in his early 40s was the protagonist of an episode of violence that required the massive intervention of the police and the firefightersThe episode occurred yesterday evening, around 19pm, in the centre of Caserta, between Piazza Matteotti and the Duomo.
The man, clearly drunk and suffering from a panic attack, barricaded himself inside his home after having smashed the front door with his fists. Some family members were also with him, visibly frightened.
The situation immediately appeared critical, so much so that four patrols of the Carabinieri, an ambulance and firefighters, who had to force access to the house to allow the police to enter.
After more than an hour of negotiations and operations, the soldier was stopped by the Carabinieri and transferred to the hospital in Marcianise to receive the necessary care. The man had already been the protagonist of a similar episode last week, when he was transported to another hospital in the province.

It's incredible how certain things happen in a place like Caserta, violence and panic episodes are increasing and we don't know what to do anymore. We hope that the police can better manage these situations for the good of all.
