The “AstraDoc” festival continues to excite the public in Naples with the screening of highly relevant documentaries. The next event will feature director Antonietta De Lillo, who will present her film “L'occhio della gallina” on March 7 at the Academy Astra cinema.

ADVERTISING

This film, which was selected for the Venetian Nights of the Giornate degli Autori, is in the running for important awards including the Nastri d'Argento and the David di Donatello in the documentary category.

The Return of Antonietta De Lillo

“L’occhio della gallina” is presented as a self-portrait of the director, who found herself on the margins of the film industry due to legal issues related to the distribution of her successful film. Through a mix of interviews and archive materials, the documentary reveals De Lillo’s artistic and personal journey, celebrating the value of cinema as a cultural and political space. The screening will also feature Daniele Sepe, composer of the film’s music, and Elisabetta Giannini, editor. The discussion will be moderated by Gina Annunziata and Antonio Borrelli.

Future Projections Program

“AstraDoc” will continue with a calendar full of events until April. Among the previews scheduled, we highlight “L'eco dei fiori sommersi” by Rosa Maietta and the international evening dedicated to Palestine with “From Ground Zero”, a collective film shot in Gaza. The events will be enriched by the presence of the authors and debates in the room. The return of directors such as Antonio Rezza and Flavia Mastrella will give a special touch to one of the evenings. The screenings will be held at the Academy Astra cinema, with tickets available at a reduced price for Arci members. The event is organized thanks to the collaboration with Parallelo 41 Produzioni, Coinor and the University of Naples Federico II, with the patronage of the Municipality of Naples. For more details, interested parties can consult the social channels of AstraDoc and Arci Movie.

  1. It's a shame that there are so many films that are never shown in theaters, such as Antonietta De Lillo's. We hope that more people can go see 'L'occhio della gallina' and appreciate her work.
