The exhibition at the Royal Palace of Caserta “The Crown of King Charles of Bourbon”.
The decision to extend its use was determined by the good success achieved in recent months by the exhibition of the faithful reproduction of the crown with which the sovereign was proclaimed king of Naples and Sicily on 3 July 1735.
The exhibition, hosted in the Throne Room, is curated by the Tarì Gold Centre and created following an evaluation by the Scientific Committee of the Museum of the Ministry of Culture, within the framework of the Call for Participatory Enhancement of the Royal Palace of Caserta.
The crown of King Charles of Bourbon was famous for its central stone, of exceptional size, a 41,5-carat diamond that the French master Claude Imbert, author of the design, defined as “perfect Violet Color”.
The reproduction starts from the complex research and reconstruction work of the headdress, promoted by Ciro Paolillo, professor of investigative gemology, and his staff of gemologists, designers and jewellers thanks to the original drawings, now kept in the State Archives of Naples, and numerous pictorial representations of the time.

The exhibition event is very interesting but I don't know if it is right to extend it so much. Maybe there should have been a greater number of visitors. The crown is beautiful, but I have never been to see it.
