On Monday, March 10, at 16:7 p.m., in the Council Chamber of the XNUMXth Municipality of Naples in via “I Misteri di Parigi” in Secondigliano, the first Anti-Racketeering and Usury Association of the neighborhood will be named after the heroic policeman Nicola Barbato, one year after his death.
Barbato was seriously injured on September 25, 2015 while trying to foil an extortion in the neighborhood of Fuorigrotta.
The ceremony, together with Barbato's family, will be attended, among others: Chiara Colosimo President of the Parliamentary Anti-Mafia Commission; Maria Grazia Nicolò Extraordinary Commissioner for anti-racketeering and anti-usury; Michele Di Bari Prefect of NAPLES; the National President of FAI Luigi Ferrucci; the Regional Coordinator of FAI Campania Rosario D'Angelo; the President of FAI of Secondigliano Paolo Serpico and the President of Municipality 7 Antonio Troiano.
The initiative is part of the project activities “Together against racketeering and usury” financed by the Campania Region.

It is an important event for the Secondigliano community, but I wonder if it will really be enough to stop the phenomenon of extortion and usury that still afflicts so many citizens in these areas. The memory of the policeman deserves respect.
