A 54-year-old from Santa Maria Capua Vetere was saved by the intervention of the Carabinieri, alerted by his relative with a phone call to 112. A patrol from the radiomobile unit of the Santa Maria Capua Vetere company intervened on the scene.
The soldiers, after having knocked on the door several times without receiving an answer, asked for the help of the Fire Brigade of the Provincial Command of Caserta with whom, using the aerial ladder, they managed to enter the apartment through a French window located on the third floor of the building.
Once inside the bedroom they found the man, unconscious, lying on the bed with his head covered by a plastic bag, a rope tied around his neck. Several knives were found lying on the bed in the immediate vicinity of the man.
The man also had stab wounds to his wrist and left forearm. The intervention of 118 was therefore requested; the paramedics first resuscitated him on the spot and then transported him in red code to the emergency room of the hospital in Aversa, where he is currently hospitalized, not in danger of life.
