Giugliano. “The Democratic Party of Napoli takes note and appreciates the decision of the Mayor of Giugliano, Nicola Pirozzi, involved in an investigation, to suspend himself from Pd, in accordance with the principles of the Code of Ethics and the Party Statute, while respecting the presumption of innocence".
This was written in a note by the metropolitan secretary Giuseppe Annunziata; the city commissioner Francesco Dinacci and the head of metropolitan local authorities, Gaetano Bocchino. Mayor Pirozzi, together with the former mayor, is under investigation in an inquiry into the contract for the collection of solid urban waste.
“In the next few hours the PD, having heard the council group, given the recent developments, will proceed to a further evaluation of the political and administrative situation of the municipality of Giugliano, in line with the position already expressed in recent days", continues the note. The one on the waste collection contract is the third investigation to shake the Town Hall of Giugliano in the space of a couple of months.
In recent weeks, a city councilor and a municipal manager have been placed under house arrest; then there is the investigation into four councilors regarding reimbursements for participation in municipal commissions.
