Pomigliano.”This morning the workers of the Transnova they sent a letter to the President of the Republic to explain the status of the dispute and to ask for intervention so that no jobs are lost.
On Tuesday at MIMIT there will be a meeting with Stellantis, we hope that the ministry will present a proposal to the table that safeguards work activities and employment levels". This was communicated by Mauro Cristiani, general secretary of Fiom Napoli and Mario Di Costanzo, head of the automotive sector of Fiom Napoli.
“Dear President, the 54 Trasnova workers who work at the Stellantis Gianbattista Vico plant in Pomigliano d'Arco are writing to you. Since December 2nd we have been permanently picketing in front of the six entrances to the factory because Stellantis has decided not to renew our contract. Transnova he sent us the dismissal letters, at the end of the year we will no longer have certainties for our future".
“In these years – the letter continues – we have always worked, with the money from our salary we have supported our families, we have fulfilled some wishes, we have put many aside because our salary is not very high, we are all workers. From the new year we will all be unemployed looking for a job and we know that in the south it is more complicated.
Some are already thinking that maybe it is better to go north. We believe we are victims of a great injustice, Stellantis is making us pay the severance pay of 136 million euros from Carlos Tavares, only that we will have to look for a new job to live, Tavares can also decide not to work for the rest of his life”.
“President Mattarella – the workers conclude – we ask you, who represent all Italians, to help us, we only want to work and see our families happy as a few days ago, we ask you to be on our side to give us back work, serenity and dignity”

It is really sad that these workers are fighting for their jobs. The situation in Pomigliano is complicated and no one deserves to lose their job. We hope that the government will intervene to help them in this matter.
