This morning the company commissioned by the Municipality installed the two new traffic lights, with the relative control unit, which have already entered into operation. “After the restyling of the Rione Zi Peppe, our work continues to make Mugnano a safer city in terms of traffic – explains the relevant councilor Vincenzo Massarelli – Those traffic lights had been malfunctioning for some time, since the control unit installed at the time of the work was technologically obsolete and continually subject to failures. Now we have installed a cutting-edge system, which will no longer cause any type of problem”. Mayor Luigi Sarnataro is satisfied: “The restoration of the traffic lights along that artery is a duty towards all citizens, who must be guaranteed full safety. That intersection has often been the scene of road accidents, mainly due to the high speed with which drivers travel along the arterial road, without any respect for the highway code. Now, if drivers respect the traffic lights and speed limits, similar incidents should no longer occur. In the next few days, the necessary horizontal road markings will also be installed. We will also work to install a camera, so as to catch the crafty ones”.
