Naples. Defibrillators in Naples station: inauguration on Friday.
At the Central Railway Station in Naples, next Friday, thanks to an agreement between the Naples Committee of the Red Cross and the Italian Railway Network, latest-generation defibrillators will be inaugurated that will allow many lives to be saved in the event of cardiac arrest.
"Naples Central Station - says Paolo Monorchio, president of the Naples Committee of the Red Cross - with about 200.000 visitors a day and 49 million visitors a year, is the main station in Campania and Southern Italy. Spreading defibrillators means not arriving late and translates into saving people who, in the absence of immediate assistance, would not be able to survive. This was the decisive motivation that allowed the creation of a collaborative project, unique in Italy, between Rete Ferroviaria Italiana and the Naples Red Cross, with the support of Auxede, because cardiac arrest strikes anyone, without warning, without taking into account age, sex, race or social condition. And time is precisely the factor to defeat".
“A project conceived and created to ensure real health facilities available not only to the thousands of people who use the transport services of Naples Central Station every day but also to all the employees and users of the shopping mall that has made Naples Central Station – he adds – a railway and commercial hub representative of the city. An important and tangible signal to encourage the progressive diffusion and use of defibrillators in all public places. The defibrillators chosen to be installed are latest-generation devices, remotely controlled and autonomous in diagnosis”.
