Naples, Pnrr project awarded on Ecoquartiere in Ponticelli. After 30 years the famous Bipiani will leave space for a new neighborhood
On December 29, the works for the New EcoQuartiere of Ponticelli were formally awarded, which will be built in place of the Bipiani with PNRR funds for 25 million euros.
After 30 years, 4 mayors and 6 councils that place will become just a memory”. This is what Patrizio Gragnano, councilor of the 5 Star Movement in the municipality 6 of Naples, says, announcing the assignment for the construction of the Ecoquartiere planned by the Municipality of Naples in the use of the Pnrr funds to transform the area of via Isidoro Fuortes in the eastern suburbs of Naples, built in 1980 to temporarily accommodate displaced people and still inhabited today by Neapolitans and immigrants.
"In these hours my thoughts - explains Gragnato - go to all those who lost their lives in that place and to those who are still there today, in those asbestos graves, buried alive. Now we must take the last and most important step towards dignity, working to assign the 104 homes that will be built to those who spent part of their existence in that 'non-Place'. The fight is not over but finally we can see a beautiful ray of sunshine".
Gragnano thanks for the work on the area also “honest and conscientious politicians like Councilor Laura Lieto who with discretion and concreteness understood the importance of that intervention by putting it at the top of her agenda”The design tender has been completed and within a few months all the procedures will be started and the census and verification of the inhabitants will be completed.
"The project – explains Lieto, deputy mayor of Naples with responsibility for urban planning – provides for the construction of a new neighborhood in the area in front of the current two-story buildings. This is a territory of the Municipality on which a new neighborhood will be built with housing and services”.
The inhabitants of the two-storey buildings that will then be demolished will be transferred to the new district: “the soils – explains Lieto – they will then be reclaimed and used to create an urban garden to be given to the inhabitants of the new eco-neighborhood. We can call it that because the project includes the reclamation and reactivation of the area where the two-story buildings are now located, the idea is to guarantee these gardens for the benefit of the inhabitants opposite, to truly create a new transformation of the area of via Fuortes”.
