The autopsy and the judicial investigation will shed light on the death of the 14-year-old Sarno, Michele Annunziata died during the night between Sunday and Monday in the hospital of Nocera Inferiore.
The young man had been hospitalized in Nocera after having already been examined and discharged from the hospital in Sarno. Apparently he complained of a strong migraine and retching.
The family filed a complaint with the Carabinieri who seized the medical records in both hospitals. The body was also seized and will be subjected to an autopsy in the next few hours.
The entire community of Sarno is in shock.
The acting mayor of Sarno, Eutilia Viscardi, wrote on social media: “The death of such a young boy is a unique and unspeakable pain and makes us understand and comprehend the true values and authentic misfortunes. My closeness to the family, there are no words, only tears and suffering. Our city cries for an angel who flew away too soon”.
The investigation will have to clarify the causes of the 14-year-old's death. At the moment it is not clear whether there was negligence on the part of the doctors. The boy's family is being assisted by a lawyer. The community of Sarno is rallying around the young man's family.
