Yesterday, August 1, 2024, the Carabinieri of the Casal di Principe Company and the Caserta Labor Inspectorate Unit carried out a targeted control operation on several companies and agricultural funds in the municipality of Villa Literno, in the province of Caserta. The operation, coordinated by Captain Marco Busetto, commander of the Casal di Principe Company, Casal di Principe, had as its main objective the fight against gangmastering and the exploitation of clandestine labour.
The intervention involved 5 patrols and 14 soldiers, who in the early hours of the morning entered the agricultural companies already reported for alleged irregularities in the use of personnel. During the inspections, the Carabinieri discovered and reported five foreign workers, all adults, who were found to be illegal on the national territory.
Furthermore, administrative sanctions totaling 2.500 euros were imposed and one of the entrepreneurs was hit by a suspension of activity measure. Yesterday's operation is part of a broader framework of control and repression of illegal activities related to gangmastering, a phenomenon still widespread in the agricultural areas of Caserta.
