Naples. A blow to the Camorra clans of eastern Naples: this morning a vast police operation has led to the imprisonment of 60 bosses and affiliates of the various clans that have been fighting for years. The De Micco and De Martino clans are in the crosshairs.
In fact, since the first light of day, on behalf of the Public Prosecutor of Naples, approximately 350 State Police officers have been executing a precautionary custody order in prison, issued by the GIP of the Court of Naples at the request of the local Anti-Mafia District Directorate.
The ordinance concerns sixty individuals seriously suspected, to varying degrees, of mafia-type association, criminal association aimed at theft, external participation in mafia association, attempted murder, unjustified possession of weapons and explosive devices, extortion, trafficking and dealing in narcotics, theft and receiving stolen goods.
The De Micco and De Martino clans are in the sights.
The operation follows some bloody events that have occurred in recent weeks in the neighborhoods of Barra, Ponticelli and San Giovanni a Teduccio. Not least the shooting that occurred yesterday evening in Antonio Ciscognetti, son-in-law of Barra boss Angelo Cuccaro.
