The Carabinieri of the Qualiano station, in the province of Napoli, have executed an arrest warrant against a 23-year-old already known to the police.
Francis Castellone di Marano he is seriously suspected of having committed two robberies – on 5 and 15 March respectively – first in a Calvizzano's croissant shop and then in one Qualiano Pharmacy.
The investigation, carried out by the Qualiano military who analysed various images from surveillance systems, allowed them to trace the scooter used in the two robberies.The Carabinieri then searched the 23-year-old's home and found and seized a helmet and the clothes probably used during the two robberies: in one pocket of the black jacket the sum of 215 euros and in the other 6 cartridge cases.
The man was tracked down and stopped late in the evening while he was at Piazza Garibaldi near the railway station in Naples. The Carabinieri returned to the boy's home and found - at the indication of the arrested person, inside the garage - a blank-firing pistol presumably used during the two robberies.
The weapon was hidden inside a bottle rack. The 23-year-old is now in Poggioreale prison awaiting the validation hearing at the disposal of the judicial authority.
