The Saint-Tropez pier on Via Caracciolo in Napoli is progressively degrading, risking collapse. This symbol of bureaucratic inefficiency has been abandoned for over 10 years due to the lack of intervention by the Port Authority.
Despite pressure and requests, the tender for the recovery of the pier was only called in 2020, raising doubts about the choice of a little-known company with limited capital as the winner.
The deputy of the Green-Left alliance, Francesco Emilio Borrelli, denounced the administrative incapacity and reiterated the need to revoke the assignment and relaunch the tender. The deputy underlined the importance of the Naples waterfront and reiterated the urgent need to restore the structure of the Saint-Tropez pier.
"We have one of the most beautiful waterfronts in the world, but what's the point in its current state? Should we only rely on the sea, Vesuvius, the sun, pizza and mandolin? We can't stand to see Naples losing face, opportunities and money."
