"Until a few years ago – Campaiola says – I would never have believed I could create a show about Naples, because I found it perhaps too arduous to enclose the vastness of that balanced chaos that makes our city so characteristic. And yet, after so many years, I found the restitution of so much complexity in the simplicity of the emotions and in the spontaneity of the relationships I lived. The style of representation is that of flamenco, and of its appropriate contamination, in a symbiotic game of musical genres and movements between the typical Spanish tradition, according to the so-called “palos”, to which certain moods and emotions are associated, and the Neapolitan one, with tammurriate and songs of the Neapolitan tradition revisited in a flamenco and modern key. “Terra e core” – continues the author and director, dancer and choreographer of contemporary dance – it is the emblem of the eternal dichotomy between the desire to "fly away" and the strong sense of belonging, between the anger for the usual clichés about the Neapolitan population and the actual reality, between those who belong to the Naples of the heart and not to that of crime. "Terra e core" is therefore a metaphor for a very frequent condition in all populations, which starts from Naples as a city of the world, and wants to urge to have courage, the courage to live free".

Synopsis:

Sun, sea, Vesuvius, pizza, generosity…the underworld. Between desires and reality, ambition and the desire for redemption, the life of Lucía Lopez, a young Sevillian from a wealthy family, accidentally intertwines with that of Gennaro Mele, known as “Malammore”, a Neapolitan boy who has always been involved in drug dealing. Initially seen as a passing crush, the relationship is then frowned upon by his friends Armando “'o Nir”, Ciro “Trentaquattro” and Teresa “Acquapazza”, Armando’s sister, as well as his ex and Ciro’s current girlfriend, who gradually see Gennaro moving away from them and their “lifestyle”. In fact, Lucía's closeness undermines Gennaro's certainties, who matures the possibility of a life far from clan warfare and elusive business, opening his heart to new horizons that he had never considered before, and that would give him the possibility of realizing his mother's dream of creating a "clean" life. The events see the relationships with his companions worsen, who end up ordering Lucía to return to Spain, igniting the spark that will soon change the fate of the entire group. Can a life caressed by hatred change for an act of love?

ANyMA company

“ANyMA compañia” is a project born in 2018 from the meeting of Manuela Iannelli and Antonio Campaiola. Two strangers, two pasts, two completely different backgrounds, who find their meeting point in art, dance, flamenco. From that artistic meeting, numerous collaborations have since blossomed, which have allowed Antonio and Manuela to get to know each other, compare themselves, test themselves and merge their worlds to create one: “ANyMA compañia”, precisely, which is the result of that confluence of souls and styles that, dancing together, intertwine and create a knot (flamenco) from which the many facets of dance branch out, with the aim of embracing, under the flamenco style and/or its contamination, different dancers, and to ensure that the body, and its movement, are the clear transposition of emotions. Currently composed of five dancers, Antonio Campaiola, Manuela Iannelli, Giada Buono, Genny Calvanese, Antonio Marino.
